earring hole infection

what will happen if i removed the stud that got pierced with my ear 3 days ago & replace it with a new earring that i bought. i dont like the stud its so plain & small…will i get an infection or anything?

as long as you dont leave it out long it wont close up. but make sure you wash your hands first, & clean the earring good before putting it in your ear. if it starts to irritate your ear then take it out & put the original one in. if it continues to be irritated or gets infected take em out & go to the dr’s.

make sure everything is clean when you do it! but be careful, my sister did it before & poked a second hole.. lol. id suggest you keep it for a little longer because the stud they give u when they pierce ur ear has a thicker gauge. i think if u change ur earing, the hole will heal a little smaller than if you kept it with the one the parlor provided you with.

It will hurt like hell. Trying to replace the stud with another earring will be the equivalent to jamming a post through a raw hole in your flesh. That’s why you aren’t supposed to take it out for 6-8 weeks.

Don’t change it. It could get infected or close or bleed a lot. Just don’t. Follow the rules, how hard is it? Besides, if the other earring isn’t a stud, you can’t wear it anyway, cause it could rip your ear. You can’t wear non-studs for about a year.

I’d definitley leave the one that they peirced it with.. in. I couldn’t wait to change mine either, but I did. You should call them & ask them what will happen. But no one is stopping you from doing it.. good luck!

Even though you don’t like it, keep the stud in for 6 weeks. It’s larger in diameter than regular earrings, & it will keep the hole from healing too small. Also, it’s designed so that the backing can’t get jammed on too tightly, squeezing your earlobe & trapping bacteria. Read More..
